Walter-Hormenu Foundation Empowers 100 Young Ladies in Lower Manya Krobo Through Apprenticeship Support
The Walter-Hormenu Foundation has taken a bold step toward youth empowerment by enrolling 100 young ladies in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality into fully supported apprenticeship programs. These beneficiaries have been placed in dressmaking and hairdressing training, equipping them with practical skills that can lead to lifelong careers and financial independence.
To ensure a smooth start, the foundation provided sewing machines and hairdryers to all trainees, along with the full payment of apprenticeship fees. This immediate support removes financial barriers that often prevent young women from accessing vocational training.
As part of its long-term commitment, the foundation pledged to solicit additional financial assistance from philanthropists to cover the trainees’ graduation fees and starter packs. This sustainability plan aims to help beneficiaries transition seamlessly into their professions after completing their training.
The event also served as a platform to inspire other young people in the area to pursue vocational training. The foundation encouraged the public to support similar initiatives, emphasizing that collective efforts can drive meaningful change and provide life-transforming opportunities for the youth.
In total, GHC 86,000 was invested to make this impactful initiative a reality—demonstrating the foundation’s dedication to uplifting the lives of young women and contributing to community development.
